The issue of gun ownership has placed the United States of America in the public domain over the years. The depicted makes its geography to get discussed from various perspectives. For example, the regional balance where the debate mainly exists between the Republicans and the Democrats' states. The next dimension involves the issue of race, gender and finally the age of ownership. Therefore, the paper gets founded on an elaborate discussion about the geography of gun ownership in the United States of America. The paper equally incorporates statistical information to demonstrate the steps which have been taken over the years to resolve the situation.

The geography on gun ownership reveals that Republicans owns more guns as compared to the Democrats' state. According to some of the latest statistics, it gets argued that about four of ten Republican owns guns which estimate to around 41%. The depicted contrasts to the Democrats' states, which get estimated at 23% and further justification is provided to prove the claim (Ron, 1). In 2013, while at the Congress in Washington, a discussion on the same got conducted, and the results demonstrated more Republican states owned more guns as opposed to the Democrats' states.

Even at the Congress level, at least one hundred and nineteen Republicans admitted owning guns and forty-six Democrats. Still, on the geography of locational gun ownership, it gets argued that the state of Kentucky, Texas, and California are some of the leading with many of their people applying for federal background checks on firearm acquisition. According to the reports, provided on 31st May 2016, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) undertook background checks of about 1.5 million Kentuckians who bought firearms (Tom and Jaesok, 1). Today the population of the depicted state gets estimated at 4.4 million thereby highlighting at least 30% of its nationals owning guns. The report presented the statistic of California at about 974, 000 ad finally Texas at 740,000. The state depicted strengthens the issue of Republicans possessing more guns since the area gets mostly dominated by them.

The next geographical discussion on gun ownership gets noted on the issue of race where blacks get argued to form half of the percentage of gun owners as opposed to their white counterparts. The percentage level for the depicted gets estimated at 19% and 41% respectively (Rich Par, 2). Hispanic equally gets argued to make a lesser percentage of gun owners in comparison to the blacks and the whites. The same issue may similarly get discussed from the demographic perspective where the southerners are argued to show a likelihood of owning more guns than other regions. The limelight captures the white southerners to own more guns than other whites from other areas. The same issue also gets noted to the blacks who also live in the same region due to their disproportional establishment.

Apart from the discussion presented, the geography of the subject can still get conducted concerning gender where statistical information gets given on the number of men and women who owns guns. According to the poll analysis of Gallup which took five years from 2007 to 2012, it got realized that men were three times likely to own guns as opposed to women. The mentioned analysis mirrored gun ownership to represent one of the largest demographic differences in history. The underlying reason for the depicted get based on women assuming more of household roles and notice little significance in having guns in their possessions. On the other side, men argue that guns serve various duties with the key one getting based on the provision of security and protection (Danielle, 1). They, therefore, argued that they get subjected to apply for the firearms to ensure that they protect their families and properties from any danger. Research also notes most of the women gun owners as those who are single mothers and left with no option but to assume both the role of the mother and the father in their households. Most of the married women do not own guns instead the ownership gets pointed out on their husbands.

Lastly, the geography of gun ownership in the United States of America also gets depicted concerning age. It gets argued that most gun owners are mainly adults of 18 years and above. The depicted does not rule out chances of younger people also owning guns especially those coming from homes where firearms act as the basic toys. Some teenagers own guns, but their number may not get compared to the middle and older adults (Donald Par, 2). The most gun owners get noted as middle adults of between 20 to 45 years of age.

Conclusion

In summary, the geography of gun ownership in the United States of America gets discussed from various perspectives as depicted in the paper. Some of the perspectives include; the location aspect with the view of Republicans and Democrats' State as already discussed. The next issue gets based on the discussion about race, gender and finally age as mirrored in the entire paper.
