Social research refers to a form of investigation carried out by social scientists in a scientific manner. The approaches related to social research can be either qualitative or quantitative. According to Jureidini (2009), mental health issues are common although challenges emerge as to what causes them especially among young adults. Statistics reveal that one in every five young adults has mental health conditions. Also, Thomas (2000) reveals that out of these, around half of them develop the condition when aged 14 years while approximately three-quarters develop the condition when by age 24. This sense, it is crucial to note that in the case of young adults, developing mental illnesses is not common. For DualDiagnosis (2017), most of the young people approaching adulthood, they usually encounter unsettling moments, leading them to develop various emotional, physical, social, as well as psychological issues, which they encounter in as they advance in age.

Qualitative research refers to a primary form of exploratory research that facilitates in understanding the major reasons, or motivations behind undertaking a certain form of study. In the perspective of socialists, academicians, or even family members, they have the potential of establishing a strong sense associated with rejection, which might result to significant disappointment. According to Time.com (2017), when young adults realize that things are not going according to their anticipations they often end up overreacting (NAMI, 2017). Most young individuals realize that life is not fair especially when they note that things are not going according to their anticipations. They usually feel confused as well as stressed. In making matters worse, young adults, experience challenging moments from the society, friends, as well as their parents mostly because they feel unappreciated. In the perspective of NIMH (2017), television, magazines, as well as the Internet influence most of young adults today. As such, they usually learn about various issues in life, particularly when it comes to drugs as well as other issues they experience in life.

Quantitative research involves empirical investigations of data collected from observable findings. A couple of arithmetic formula are employed such as statistical, computational, probability techniques. Quantitative research methods are supported by figures and trends are deduced from the same. Regarding quntitative social research, guidance is crucial particularly in the event of todays young adults. They require guidance especially since they are experiencing diverse physical and emotional changes (BeyondBlue, 2016). When their mood is disrupted, they capacity of functioning on a daily basis may be affected to an extent that they develop severe mental or emotional disorders, which demands sufficient attention. Thus, NAMI (2017) reveals that it is the role of caregivers or even parents to ensure they dedicate sufficient attention to them. In dealing with the pressures that young adults having mental health issues go through, it is crucial to deploy various approaches that can allow them deal with mental health issues. Therefore, it is crucial to offer several suggestions that can facilitate in allowing the young to gain acceptance as well as establish a sense of belonging.

In allowing young adults in dealing with the mental health issues they experience, one of the vital ways of doing so is providing them with a mechanism of establishing new friends. In developing supportive friends, young adults are capable of developing self-esteem, which plays an essential role in allowing them to cope with diverse challenges in life. In addition, Jureidini (2009) stipulates that it is crucial to make sure that young adults take part in sports or other activities that can allow them avoid various stressing issues they encounter in life (BeyondBlue, 2016). Thus, then young adults remain busy, they are able to focus on productive activities while avoiding negative behaviors or feelings. Furthermore, Thomas ( 2000) reveals that young adults need to make sure they join institutions or programs that can allow them gain interest in life. Also, they need to ensure they consult with their peers or other grown up individuals allow them deal with various kinds of stressing issues in life. Therefore, it is crucial to offer young adults the necessary support they need to hinder them from developing mental health complications
