Essay on Anthropology of Climate Change

The manifestation of weather and the atmospheric conditions differ in various parts of a country or continent. A year comprises of multiple seasons such as the summer, winter, spring and autumn, and they all have different characteristics, and their effects differ. Climate variation in different areas results in changes and character alterations on the properties of soils, properties of waters, mode of life of inhabitants, nature of vegetation, a shape of the land and even the fertility of the inhabitants. Variation and uniformity of the seasons are also associated with the mode of life of the residents and their characteristics regarding physique and personal traits (Dove, 2014).

Properties of water vary in consideration of the terrain and the flows of the water bodies. The effects of the waters to both the land and the human inhabitants are dependent on the inherent properties that it contains. Water differs in weight and taste. This is in conjunction with the characteristics of the water; there are marshy waters, soft and hard waters. There are various water sources. There are those that come from rocky heights, marshy heights or brackish heights. Availability of water channels in an area also has an effect on the fertility of the land and the characteristics of the people in the region. Such as availability of rivers in the land draining off from the ground, the rain water, and stagnant water is associated with the brightness and healthiness of the people in that land. The absence of rivers results to drinking water being marshy, stagnant and fenny, thus contributing to the protruding bellies and enlarged spleens of the people in the region](Dove,2014).

The richness of the land depends on the properties of the soil. The soil may be dry, wooded or watered. The soil too may be hollow, and hoe or may be high and cold. The soil tends to be thin, dry and bare depending on the sharp contracts experienced such as from wild and hot wind in an area. Due to the experienced seasonal sharp contrasts resulting in thin, dry and bare soil, it leads to an effect on the characteristics of the inhabitants such as having a hard physique, fair complexion and are independent in character.

Variation in climate causes changes in the fertility of the inhabitants of an area. Areas characterized with moistness leads to decreased sexual urge of the men in the area. The people in the area are described with chill and soft abdomen hence reducing their urge to fire. The fertility of women is hindered by their fatness and moistness in a flesh that prevents the attachment of the seed to the womb. Hence leading to very few women in such a region to conceiving and carrying the pregnancy.

Mode of life of different inhabitants also differs according to their personal and behavioral characteristics. As much as a new resident considers the seasonal changes, he or she should take note that some inhabitants are heavy drinkers and others are not. Some are inactive, eating much and even industrious. The weather has adverse effects on both physique and character of particular inhabitants. On the physique of the inhabitants, the body growth is determined by the climate of the region. Those in leveled highlands that are watered and windy tend to be tall and similar to each other. Inhabitants of mountainous areas are significant in physique. Residents of hollow characterized areas are short, fleshy and dark haired. Residents of areas characterized by cold turn their white skin to ruddy.

Varied factors affect and are also affected by the changes in the climate of an area. The nature of the soil, water properties and the nature of the landscape change the environment of a zone. Climate on itself affects the body physique and the characters of the inhabitants of such a region. All these factors should be put into considerations by a new resident of an area (Dove, 2014)
