Eating an exotic apple could save your life. I know you might be deliberating what I am speaking about, but I am not speaking about the normal apple fruit that you are accustomed to, I am actually talking about the winter apple commonly referred to as pomegranate. According to recent studies, this fruit is not only nutritious but could also help prevent diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Follow me closely as I explain how this one fruit could save you several trips to the doctor.

The risk of the average person contracting heart disease or cancer is really high in this current age. This is because most of these diseases can be attributed to lifestyle conditions such as the type of food we consume and whether we exercise or not. These lifestyle factors include living a sedentary lifestyle, excessive consumption of alcohol, unlimited intake of processed sugar and consuming oily foods which may have trans fats (Pedersen). Looking at all these lifestyle factors I think many of us are actually at risk getting any of these diseases and therefore apart from exercising we need to make more healthy decisions with our diets (Razani et al 1731-1738).

Fortunately, pomegranate has shown to have such a broad range of curative capabilities. Pomegranate is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and sugar. The antioxidants found in Pomegranate have shown anti-inflammatory properties which is helpful in treating and preventing chronic inflammation that is observed in diseases such as type 2 diabetes, several types of cancers, cardiovascular disease and obesity.

Recent studies have revealed that pomegranate extract can actually decrease inflammation in the digestive system (Journal Of Applied Pharmaceutical Science). A separate study showed that daily administration of pomegranate seed oil could significantly improve the concentration and lipid ratio in the body thereby reducing the risk of heart disease (Razani). Consumption of pomegranate juice by individuals having type 2 diabetes and high levels of cholesterol resulted in great improvement such as reduction in LDL cholesterol (EFSA 1750). Similarly, studies on breast cancer and prostate cancer showed that pomegranate extract could actually slow down the growth of cancer cells and even kill some of the cancer cells (Khalid) (Chrubasik 1676-1678).

Therefore, so now imagine on a hot afternoon or after a long day at work you grab a cool pomegranate juice to quench your thirst and by doing just that you ensure that you are getting a healthy dose of nutrients that reduce your risk of contracting cancer or heart disease. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you POM Juice your very own healthy drink. Conclusion

The key to healthy living is in the conscious decisions you make every day in choosing what you eat and how you live. By regularly taking pomegranate juice you ensure that you stay healthy and also help prevent as well as manage heart diseases and cancer among others. Therefore I challenge you to make the healthy choice buy POM juice today and take control of your health.
