The Compact Optimal Mouse 500 falls in the category of external computer hardware device. It is white in color and has a curve shape. This mouse has the following dimensions: 3.44" in length and 1.88" in height. Moreover, it has four parts: the top casing, the bottom casing, the cord and plug, and the internal circuit board. The top casing comprises of the left-click cover, right-click cover, and scroll wheel. The bottom casing has the small sensor. Moreover, it is not expensive, and the average cost goes for approximately $5, although the price may vary from one vendor to the other.

Top Casing

The top casing of this mouse consists of hard and curved plastic sheet that serves to protect the internal parts of the mouse. Moreover, it has the left-click cover, right-clicks cover, and scroll wheel. The left-click cover and right-click cover appear on the front side of the top cover and is made from curved plastic. Both the left-click cover and right-click cover are mirror images of each other. The scroll wheel is found sandwiched between the left-click cover and the right-click cover, which can be easily scrolled up and down.

The Lower Casing

The bottom casing has a flattened surface made up of the hard plastic shell. It has a small sensor, which detects the movements of the mouse and can monitor the gesture of the cursor on the computer screen.

The Cord and the Plug

The cord comprises a wire covered by a plastic sheath, which will remit the information processed by the mouse to the computer. At the end of the cord is a USB port that is made up of metal and is rectangular. The purpose of this rectangular piece of metal placed at the end of the cord is to link the mouse to the computer.

Internal Circuit Board

This is an electronic component comprising a copper sheet. It is found within the optical mouse and receives protection from external factors by the top and bottom casing. When the user scrolls up or down using the wheel located between the left-click cover and right-click cover or clicks the left-click cover, and right-click cover, the internal circuit board gathers then synthesize the information. It also has a small bulb that lights whenever the computer is switched on. The internal circuit board is prone to damage if it falls or placed on wet surfaces. Moreover, it is not repairable once it is damaged. Therefore, it is always advisable that one takes good care of the mouse to avoid the cost of buying a new mouse every time it gets damaged.

Only tech-savvy individuals can operate freely without using the mouse.
