The growth and development in Angelina have been gradual where she has experienced variations in emotions, social and psychosocial dimension. For example, Angelina was born the natural way and had a normal growth. Angelina behaved the same ways as kids conceived through copulating. After a few weeks of delivery, Angelina was quick to learn to feed on breast milk. Angelina was feeding normally, and gaining weight gradually. One noticeable signs of normal growth in Angelina is a response to changes in the environment. It has been clear that Angelina responds to stimuli the right way. For example, as Angelina grow and experience a change in weight and height, she cries when feeling cold, wet and when hungry. The emotional changes in Angelina were normal because the intensity of crying varies with depth of the emotions. Loud wail is normal for growing babies because they help in the development of lungs.
As time advances, the personality of Angelina becomes more of a normal baby. For example, earlier, her response to stimuli was poor and less effective. However, it is apparent that now Angelina sleeps for two hours just like normal babies. Another sign of growth and development for Angelina regards the activities she engages during the wake time. After two hours of sleep, she remains awake and playful. The growth progress of Angelina resembled that of a normal baby as time advanced. For example, the first day of breastfeeding was different from the subsequent days. There was a development of mother-child bond after a repeat breastfeeding. The growth of Angelina resembles that of a normal child because her cry would trigger lactations. It is normal that after breastfeeding for a couple of days, the mother, and the child develops a bond and a mutual relationship. Mutual relationship means that the mother benefits emotionally from the interaction with the baby and the baby on the other hand benefit from breast milk and social development.
Time has been an important determinant of growth and development of Angelina. There have been pieces of evidence of developments of motor skills from time to time. For example, when Angelina is awake, she is playful and engages in dances. There has been evidence of social developments for Angelina. Angelina feels upset, laugh, and make noise. The ability to detect the variations in the environment symbolizes developments in emotions and social skills. It is apparent that Angelina knew how to party, enjoy the music, and play with a toy. The various interactions with the toys are an evidence of developments in motors skills and social interactions. In child developments, the principle of use and disuse works. For example, the more Angelina uses her limbs, the more she becomes stronger. During her wake time, she liked playing with toys, lifting hands in the hair and remaining playful. It is imperative that Angelina was responding to music according and exhibiting an appropriate movement for a specific song. As long as Angelina was awake, she would bounce, dance, and cry when offended by the caretaker.
Another significant sign of cognitive development in Angelina after three months of age regards the changes in facial expressions. Three months after delivery, Angelina is interested in objects in the environment. During her 5th month, Angelina had a more develop cognitive than the age of 2 months. At five months of her growth, Angelina is more interested in toys and faces of familiar people. In children, a development starts from the heart and grows outside the body. The maturity in the heart, and internal organizes is exhibited in the motor skills. At 6 months of growth, Angelina exhibit normal growth where she would get surprised, and laugh at funny objects. It is significant that Angelina would recognize familiar objects such as a dogs, and people. Normally, infants are forgetful because when objects are out of sight, they are definitely out of existence. However, for the case of Angelina, there are big differences between various ages of her developments. Recognizing familiar objects in the surrounding is a sign of learning and positive growth and development.
Growth and development of Angelina comply with the cognitive development theory that Piaget proposed. Piaget holds that cognitive development is a process and it involves one-step to another (Demetriou et al., 2016). The development of thought process in children involves the recognition of near objects and the advancement of major objects. The theory explains much on the development of short-term and the long-term memory in children. Children can easily forget the objects they see for the first time. However, with continuous interaction with the objects in the environment the child develops a long-term memory and is able to interact with the objects frequently. Angelina was able to recognize an object in the surrounding because of their continuous interaction in the same environment. In this case, the ideas of Piaget are relevant in the context.
The development of Angelina has been full of challenges because it involves conditioning to help the baby develop normally. Though Angelina learned how to breastfeed during the first few days after her birth, she experiences unstable emotions. For example, she developed an aggressive behavior to respond to the changes in the external environment.
After a consideration of many factors, the choice of parenting was appropriate for Angelina. Throughout her growth and development period, the types of parenting in use are permissive. In this case, Angelina enjoyed different forms of freedom where she was free to play, handle objects in the environment and demand according to her needs. Permissive parenting style allows the child to discover her immediate environment without fear of rebuking (Sangawi Adams, & Reissland, 2015) In the case of Angelina; her cognitive development was quick because of the intensive interaction with different objects in the environment.
Toys help the kids to develop motor skills in their environment. Playing toys enabled Angelina to develop strong muscle in both hand and legs. It also quickened cognitive developments as she plays with the toy and other objects within her reach. Allowing Angelina enough freedom was imperative because she would discover many things her own way. Often, a child knows how to read the changes in moods from time to time. Adapting a friendly mood help the kid feel supported and all the activities they engage. Analytically, other types of parenting such authoritative make children develop a shy personality. In this case, the child shy and fear discovery many things in her environment. Angelina was able to develop social skills because of her freedom to interact and play. She had a number of toys, had the freedom to cry when she felt offended. For this reason, the parent style was appropriate.
