Paper Example on Worship Service

Worshiping is the main reason for the formation of the church. It is essential for the church members to come together for a corporate worship because it has an indispensable function in the growth of the church. Worshiping service helps the church members revive their spiritual fire and sustain them in the journey of salvation. Worship services in our church form the genesis of other important Christian values such as sharing the word of God through reading the Bible, learning to pray effective prayers and understanding the Gods graces in the life of a believer. In the book of Romans 12:1 the bible says I appeal to you, therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as the living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. It is clear from the scripture that it is the duty of believers to worship and refrain from their sinful nature. It is the intentions of the church leaders to ensure that the believers find a good environment for worship. It the desire of the board of the church supports all the members of the church to grow in worship and in their service. Worship helps the believer understanding their calling and talents in the house of God.

Preaching

A church is an imitation of the body of Christ Jesus. Preaching is an important part in encouraging the believers to focus on the law of God. Most preachers preach the gospel of Jesus to remind the believers of their duties in the church. In Luke 4:18 Jesus came out clear on the importance of preaching. Jesus started clear that it was his role to proclaim good tiding on the slaves, the broken-hearted, the poor and those with the physical need. For this reason, preaching is important in the church because it is one way of spiritual nourishment to the believers. Through preaching, the church minister is able to speak liberty to the oppressed and give hope to the hopeless. Preaching the good news helps to heal the hearts of the believers and to win the souls of non-believer for Christ. Jesus gave his disciples a duty to preach the gospel right from their homes to the ends of the earth. Therefore, preaching in the church is one-way give strength to the believers to preach the gospel of Jesus to their neighbors. Preaching is one way to liberate the believers from the temptations.

Prayer

Prayer is one way of communicating with God. The prayer life of a believer is important because it makes their faith complete. In the Christian faith, God provides for the needs of the believers. However, it is hard for the believer to receive from God before they ask in prayer. The Bible encourages the believers to ask all they need through prayer. In the book of 1 John 5:14, it encourages the believers to ask everything according to the will of God because He is faithful to give. This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. In the church, it is expected that the church members commit to prayer to receive all they need from God. As indicated earlier, there is no way that God can talk to his people except through prayer. In this case, the church minister teaches the members how to pray effective prayers. In the ministry of Jesus, Jesus taught his disciples how to pray. Jesus knew that without prayer, working with God was difficult. The same applicable to believers, they need to pray to make their work with God easy, and to ready their hearts with the heavy burdens in our hearts.

Evangelism

The purpose of the church is to make Christ known in most places in the world. The Bible encourages the believers to spread the gospel to the people in need. The book of Psalms 105:1, says Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. It is apparent from the scriptures that knowing God is the beginning of a responsible life. It is the duty of the believers to spread the gospel to the far nations for people to know about God. Reading most chapters in the Old Testament reveal how God exalts himself above the many gods on the earth. An in-depth analysis of the Bible reveals that the main purpose of creating human beings was to worship God. For this reason, it is the duty of the church to make God known among the nations and share the great works of God across the borders of many nations. In the gospel books, Jesus sends his disciples to make his name known among nations. The church of today is the body of Christ and therefore it is the duty to spread the gospel to win more souls for Christ. The church needs to focus on winning more souls for the Kingdom of God and to save people from the bondage of sin.

Fellowship

Fellowshipping involves coming together to worship Christ. The church building serves as a sanctuary for Christian fellowships. In Hebrews 13: 16 the bible encourages the believers not to stop the habit of fellowshipping together because God is happy about the fellowship. And do not neglect to do good and sharing for with such sacrifices, God is pleased Hebrews 13:16. The church should lead as the example of welcoming all kinds of people for fellowship in the church. Fellowshipping in church helps to bring bond among the believers and revive the brotherly love. The Bible encourages the believers to be their brothers keepers1. It is, therefore, possible to remain accountable if the church has fellowships. Apart from the Sunday fellowship, there is a need to organize for fellowships within the week to encourage and minister to each other.

Stewardship

The role of a steward is to take care of a property on behalf of the owner. In church, there are many duties that individual has to perform. During creation, God gave a special gift to everyone. Everyone is accountable for the roles they play during the coming of Jesus. It is clear that in the Day of Judgment everyone is will account for all his or her deed before God. The preachers, the disciples, and the teachers of the world have to answer God according to their line of duties. The diverse talents in the church do not belong to us but we are stewards. In the book of Romans, it is apparent that everyone is responsible for their deeds. So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God Roman 14:12. Everyone will talk to God concerning his or her time on earth and all they did to enrich the kingdom of God. God gave us different parts of our bodies with unique roles. In the same way, the body has many parts; everyone in the church has a unique role. The church needs finances to run its activities. The sources of the church finances are members hence we should be responsible tithers1.

Discipleship

A disciple is a follower of Jesus. Someone who is dedicated to the Christina duties is a follower of Christ. In the Bible, Jesus told the sons of Zebedee to follow him. In this case, Jesus wanted James and John to follow Jesus and be the fishers of men. The church of today needs to follow Jesus and help Jesus make more disciples. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, he gave the disciple the great commission to go and make more disciples of all the nations. Discipleship has to be at the center of every Christian church. Discipleship is processed and therefore church leaders need to focus on preparing believers to be the disciples of Jesus. In a Christian church, everyone is a disciple and therefore there is a need to follow the footsteps of Jesus. Being a disciple is a sacrifice because it involves forsaking the duties as a home for the sake of fellowshipping he kingdom. During the time of Apostle Paul, he urged the believers to follow him as he follows Christ.
