My mission statement as a nurse to enhance the well-being of patients who are in my care by promoting their health, prevention of further diseases as well as a champion for the needs of healthcare. As a nurse, I ought to provide health services and give care to patients based on ethical issues. Ethical issues enable me to carry out proper functions to control conditions and to provide safe ethical and legal care. I do possess some values that qualify me to be a good nurse. For example, I have good communication skills that are a basic foundation for my career as a nurse. I am emotionally stable so that I can withstand the working conditions of a hospital. I am also empathetic, able to pay attention to details and have excellent problem-solving skills. Moreover, I am flexible regarding time and therefore can work during any shift (Fabbruzzo-Cota et al, 2016)
As a nurse, I have social accountability as I can keep up with the standards of nursing practice that have been outlined for me. I take responsibility for my actions and work within the set scope of competence and legitimacy. I also thrive to maintain my emotional, physical and psychological sobriety to practice. I have stewardship values that improve my critical reasoning that is based on virtual and witness. My strengths can be highlighted by competencies such as the ability to listen to others without judging, high standards of ethical practices, leading by example, working effectively in a team and ability to put off destructive statements. Such competencies enhance shared decision-making in both social and health problems of the customers and hence improving the outcomes of the organization (Krejci et al, 2014).
Capella health organization is the organization I would like to work for. Its mission is to facilitate better healthcare for the society and establish excellence in care. The hospital envisions itself to be a center that transforms the quality of life. Capella employees and physicians are truthful and honest. Also, they are courteous and respect the opinions of other people. In my research, I found out that the organization highly values their resources and hence wisely uses them. The physicians of the hospital are socially accountable for the well-being of patients (Miller & French, 2016).
