The article by Theo Jones expresses their joy in the step taken to preserve the environment by getting rid of plastic bags. After analyzing both views, paper bags are not the perfect replacement for plastic bags since they not only create a new cost for retailers but also pollute the environment as plastic bags (Dana Gopal et al., 2014).
The editor points out that the purchase of reusable bags is minimal and costs less than a dollar. Given that most retailers charge consumers who want their purchases to be in disposable bags, it is evident that buying reusable bags is more cost effective.

In conclusion, it is evident that there has been a problem with the replacement of plastic bags which is: paper bags are not environmentally friendly either. It is evident that paper bags pollute the environment in the course of their manufacture thus not the best replacement for plastic bags.
Diamond Mining should be banned
Diamonds are the worlds most precious minerals. However, the diamond mining industry has been expensive to other people and the environment and this explains the reason why mining of diamonds should be banned (Masvaure, Rugguna & Maharaj, 2014).
The first article explains that diamond mining is expensive to the environment. In any mining, soil and water have to be removed in order to get the diamonds. This has caused in the diminishing of water which is essential to human life. There have been many lakes and rivers that have been drained at the expense of mining (Masvaure et al., 2014).
However, opposing the first article, the second article argues that the mining industry is not the environmental villain as the companies have worked hard to reverse the consequences of the environment.
When comparing the two articles, diamond mining has cost too much to the environment, and this has been seen in the displacement of people, endangering of species and drying up of water sources. As a result, mining of diamonds should be banned.
Traffic Lights Cameras are Essential
Traffic lights camera are a development of this century aimed at reducing congestion on roads. Traffic cameras are important because a study done in Maryland showed a decrease in traffic violation once the traffic cameras were installed.
Through traffic lights, there will be more order in the roads as the violators will be sent a traffic ticket violator. The automatic traffic lights will also enable the police men to refocus on other duties that do not require the human presence (Fallahi et al., 2016). As a result, there has been a reduction in the accidents witnessed on the roads.
On the other hand, the non-supporters of the argument explains that the benefits of the automatic red cameras are not clear and have not attributed directly to order in other places. In addition, they are too expensive to install and the funds can be channeled elsewhere.
The first argument is strong and logic as through the traffic cameras, the drivers will be careful not to be violators, and the police can engage in other responsibilities.
Athletes are overpaid
There are different careers in the world and sports have been among the most rewarding. However, athletes have been overpaid while other profession involved in more demanding duties are poorly compensated (Curtis & Thornton, 2014).
The sizes of the athletes' salaries depicts the struggle they go through before they become professionals. The public only catches a glimpse of the highest paid athletes and ignore the starters who get close to nothing.
While an athlete is paid $40 million, a teacher who has worked for more than twenty years is paid around $50000 only. The police officers and fire fighters also have the same range despite their crucial role in the community.
From the two arguments, it is evident that the public servants should be compensated in a better way as entertainers are since they contribute more to the society than athletes.
