Background

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer is one of the novels in Harry Potter. The context of the novel is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry Potter is a Wizard who first discovered who first discovered his magical heritage after he made close friends and enemies. The author intended to reveal the power of choices and their consequences. Lord Voldemort killed Harrys parents leaving a 15-year-old Harry an orphaned. The Novel has won awards in U.S as a novel for young children. It was ranked one of the best-selling books in 1999. Most of the reviewers of the great novel praise the imaginations of the author, sense of humor, clever plot, and simplicity. Rowling placed the genre in the modern society and explained social issues and ethical practical practices in the modern society. The book reveals stories in boarding schools. The stories in the book are suitable for teenagers. Many people view the book as a promoting the works of witchcrafts. However, the book is good because it explains the value of self-sacrifice and the implications of personal decisions in shaping personalities.

Summary

The novel describes the life of Harry as a one-year-old orphan. Lord Voldemort was a powerful dark wizard who killed Harrys parents. Harry was an infant when his parents died. After the death of his parents, Harry was under the care of Petunia Dursley and Vernon. When Harry grew up, he joined Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. After interacting with friends and enemies, Harry learned that Lord Voldemort killed his parents and thus he became happy because of his downfall. Harry was gaining popularity because of his witches and wizards. Hagrid (grounds keeper in Harrys school) helped Harry learn about his inheritance and his fame in various places in the city. At the college, Harry made many friends and enemies that helped him discover many things about life. Harry porter made friends such as Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Neville Long bottom

The novel contains interesting old stories that are helpful in the developing child psychology. It is apparent that the author of the book is creative because he sends the readers to the world of imaginations. The book contains a sense of humor and clear explanations of themes. I feel that the book benefit the kids and adults because they will understand that decisions have consequences. The power of witchcrafts is common in our environment. As a result, the themes in the novel reflect the contemporary society. The author has put the old genres in the contemporary society. Therefore, the novel helps in keeping the old genre.

Conclusions

The novel Harry potter and the sorcerers contain themes such choices, social and societal ethics. The book has won many awards because of its themes, and creativity of the author. The Story revolves around the life of Harry who was an orphan at the age of one. The author gives the picture of the society considering the witchcrafts and Wizards. The settings of the story are in a Wizard school where Harry learns of his inheritance and power of witchcraft.
