Millennial, also referred as generation Y is the generation that is studied most because they even surpass the baby boomers. There is a need for this generation to have information about the environment given the increasing importance in the global scheme. This generation is also regarded as unmotivated, selfish, lazy, and vain. However, they are also hardworking, focused, and idealistic on environmental sustainability and social change.

Most of the millennial consider themselves as global citizens who have the responsibility and thus, they are aware of the effect of plastic recycling. Most of the people in the millennial generation know that the space in the landfill is limited and conditions make it impossible for anything including the plastics to biodegrade easily. Therefore, they are aware that recycling of the plastics helps in conserving space, which can be, utilized by other wastes. Research conducted by Earth911 reveals that 7.4 cubic yards of the area on land are saved for every plastic recycled.

Therefore, it is essential for every generation to know the impact of recycling plastics. The millennials are on the leading edge in the current dialogue and thinking concerning sustainability and profoundly influence the effectiveness and scope of tomorrows efforts.Although most of the people in generation Y are aware of the significance of recycling plastics are not even aware that plastics are recycled. Some individuals also consider it as an activity that is not helpful because they cannot even consume water manufactured in a recycled plastic bottle. This issue can be evident from the conversation I had with Mr. Bill Anderson.

The millennial generation is aware that recycling of plastics decreases pollution and this is evident from the conversations I had with other people regarding the issue of recycling plastics. Recycling of the plastics reduces pollution in both the water sources and air. Most of the landfill facilities can incinerate the plastic bottles to help in saving waste that can irritate the air. Therefore, it is vital for all the people in the millennial generation to be aware of plastic recycling as it plays a significant role in creating a clean environment free from wastes.
