Distress forms the central theme of all the narratives in the article. No only do they have one thing in common; they also share their experiences, reactions, and attitudes. Despite the difference in the accounts, anguish and suffering remain the key theme of their lives. Right from the abstract, the goal of many in life is to have life episodes as per their plans and wishes. No one ever makes room for the inevitable. In fact, in many cases, people do not think of their ideas or lives going in the opposite direction, or coming to a stop, or taking a downturn. Nevertheless, all people go through difficult moments, at one time or another. However, the explosions in life often leave people traumatized, broken, and on the verge of giving up. Despite the nature of traumatic events in life, individuals act differently, and in many cases, the reaction to the negative episode makes the difference.

According to Jaremko and Meichenbaum (2013), Approaching life positively and embracing both the negative and positive aspects forms the most significant reaction to life events. While making positive changes, it is vital to accept the fact that at one time or another, life gets nasty, we miss opportunities, we crumble, break, and desire for a different lifestyle, a different person, and above all view life negatively (Schwarzer 2014). Accepting the realities of life such as its pains and deep experiences puts one in the right frame of mind to walk through a harrowing experience. In the event of a difficult experience, a positive state of mind, a ready mentality, and optimism make all the difference. One can go through awkward moments simply by having a prepared mind.

While it is important to have the right frame of mind in case life hands one a lemon, it is equally vital to share ones mantra, philosophy, guiding principle, and moral values of others. According to Schwarzer (2014), sharing forms the central aspect of helping others overcome their awkward moments, cope with life challenges, and adapt to the right frame of mind through the course of an explosive ordeal. No greater human attributes surpass the ability to stand with someone during their difficult moments, to help him or her, walk with them, support and motivate them. It is one of the best ways of helping one make a positive change for the better. In life, opportunities are rare to come by, and it is important to grasp and take advantage of opportunity once they become available to us. As the adage goes, "opportunity wont just fall on one's lap," it is a chance to make a difference, an impact and touch a life, and finally, a golden break to be of service to others at their time of need (Jaremko & Meichenbaum 2013).

Being of service to others is one of the most fulfilling professional careers one can take. I believe that I can work and give my best in helping and influencing others. It not only brings satisfaction, but it is a way of having an in-depth look at one's life and making the necessary changes to adapt to life's eventualities. I firmly believe, that while taking up a professional career in helping and influencing others, I am in the first case, helping myself. As I listen to others struggles, predicaments, suffering, and anguish, I can take the opportunity to relate them to my own and build a step by step formula for overcoming lifes pains.

When my life seems to fall apart, I pause, take a break, review, and analyze the entire experience to help me lay out a strategy to get out of the confusion or find a solution and move on. I take and handle issues one by one without complicating the situation during difficult moment and, especially, moments when I am uncertain of the next course of action to take.
