The movie has been looked at from different perspectives by diverse groups of people. Some groups of people support the events in the film, but critics too do exist. Information that has been derived from different reviewers of the movie gives us a chance to have a broader look at the events that are depicted there. To understand the historicity and truth of the events in the movie, you ought to side with one base of argument; otherwise, you will remain to have divided ideologists of the single concept. Regardless of where you want to base your argument, you must at least come to a consensus on what you know about the filming of the movie.
Basing your argument on the biblical details, you can say that Moses and the Exodus are real events that occurred and have an impact on the traditions of Christianity (Cole 42). However, the filming of what is thought to be the exact events of the Exodus has some drawbacks that make it not to be efficient in giving the accurate picture of what is expected. For instance, in the building of the Pyramids in Egypt, the movie shows that it is the Israelite slaves that were used to make it a success. However, from the archaeological details of the Egyptian culture, the pyramids were built by Egyptian skilled labor; the slaves only made some two cities in Egypt. This makes the film to be a misleading factor the one cannot fully rely on.
Consequently, the roles played by the actors in the movie do not primarily show the actual men in the Exodus. The video does not name the exact pharaoh that was in rule during the contest. Amid the may Pharaohs, it only represents Rameses II. However, the Bible also does not name all the pharaohs of the Exodus. This also leads us to the fact that the events of the exodus which are said to have been written by Moses; they do not express themselves satisfactorily to give a reader an insight on how they were recorded. Brown, in his article, illustrates how Moses is thought to have recorded the events, although controversies arose when he recorded even his death and burial (Duet 34:5). Therefore it remains in the hands of the reader to tell that the events might have just been written by some artisan who represented Moses (Kirsch, 54). That is why Janner-Klausner, who revealed this fact, could not be an orthodox rabbi due to her interpretations.
Other reviewers also think that the story of Moses is not factual; in fact, they believe that it is just a myth. However, for those that believe that the events are real, they choose to do so because they believe in the power that exists in the deities. Yes, the film may not be accurate and may not show the exact events that were experienced during the exodus. Tunzelmann, in his article, he explains that all the actions of the Exodus could be revealed in the film but the level of technology at that moment could not allow. The same case applies to the record of events, they too may not be very original, but the bottom-line is that the filming tries to give a picture of the Exodus at large.
The criticism of the reviewers is good, as it gives the mind of readers a chance to look at the movie Exodus: Gods and Kings from different angles. Although the aim of some critics is to see the downfall and banning of the film, the fact is that all these attempts always increase the appeal of the movie. Therefore, the criticism is good and has a positive impact on the film itself.
