Angels are heavenly bodies whose sole purpose is to act as intermediaries between God and human beings (Jones, 2010). In the Bible, there are several incidences where Angels were used to delivering messages to human beings. In the nativity story, an angel of God was sent to Joseph to convince him to marry Mary. Matthew 1:20 New International Version states "But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."

Angels, therefore, served the purpose of delivering Gods messages to humans (Jones, 2010). Angels also served the purpose of protecting human beings from harm. In Luke 4:10, the Bible states, "For it is written, He will command His angels concerning you to guard you carefully.' Angels are supernatural in nature and based on paintings; they have half human and half heavenly bodies. They are much more powerful than humans and possess supernatural powers (Richards, 2008).

Satan is a fallen son of God whose role is to bring humans into temptation. As such, Satan works around the clock to lead humans astray and to prevent them from what God has in store for them. As the tempter of human beings, the Bible warns against falling into temptation. 1st Corinthians 7: 5 states "Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control (Richards, 2008)." Satan is portrayed as one who pushes humans to sin by using their weaknesses as a weapon to attack them and lead them to sin.

Satan was once an angel but rebelled from God and was thrown down to earth alongside other fallen angels. His place is in hell, and he intends to take as many of Gods human creatures as possible with him. To make this possible, he has to constantly lead them to sin so that they become as evil as he already is and in so doing, they can sin against God and be punished for it in hell. Christians are told to stand firm against the schemes of Satan in order to overcome him. They have to be vigilant and spot the work of the enemy before he has the opportunity to attack them. Another way to fight against the devil's tactics is through the word of God. Christians must hide the word of God in their heart so that they can use it against Satan.

Demons are fallen angels who are agents of Satan. They work for Satan to scheme attacks on human beings, cause fear and disruption whenever they can. In the Bible, Jesus had to cast out demons from several people who had been possessed by demons and had their lives ruined by these foreign beings. In Luke 4:35-36, Jesus cats out a demon out of a man saying Be quiet!'. Come out of him (Richards, 2008)!' The demon obeyed and immediately left the man. Demons can cause harm to people but cannot stand the power of God. Jesus healed a man possessed by a multitude of demons, casting all of them to pigs. Demons in this sense enjoy possessing human beings. They are constantly looking for loopholes in people that they intend to possess, and use their host to perform evil acts. The Bible extols the virtues of righteousness and Christians must remain vigilant not to fall into sin.
