In recent business settings, modern technologies have taken center stage. These include use of mobile solutions, cloud computing, app generations, customer segmentations, and connectivity. These are brought about by the digital revolution, globalization, and social mediaization in the society, the turbulent world and the acceleration of business (Ouye, 2011). These driving forces have made business activities to be o effective in many companies.

Trends in Business Hardware and Relationship between Hardware Changes and Software

Business has started investing in workstations, external hard drives, network server solutions, wireless routers and laser jet printers. This has not only improved their efficiencies, but they have also increased their productions and profits. Hardware, however, cannot function without software. The software is the driving factor in hardware because it sets programs into action.

The importance of Databases and Data Mining to Business.

Data mining is important to business in many ways. It can be used in forecasting future business sales and financial performance by extracting previous data on performance. Also, data mining forms the basis business intelligence which can help in generating latest information for competition analysis, economic trends, market research, industry research, consumer behavior and geographical information (Suknovic, 2016). Analysis of these aspects helps the business stay ahead of competitors.

Business process should dictate software structure because of the differing nature of the businesses. Different business has different needs and target market. If a business dictates the software means that if business changes it will force the change in the software structure thus leading the business to incur extra costs in restructuring the software.

This is because perfume buyers need to know its scent while lipsticks colors which are hard to know online. The buyers wont feel how the mattresses are comfortable online.

I have never been involved in any step of the system development cycle. However, it can impact an organization in many ways. Functional requirements through standard, reporting, interface and security functions will impact the business process. The technical requirements through accessibility, encryption and disaster recovery will impact the organization system infrastructure. The operational requirements through system performance, audit and controls, and system administration will improve operations and support. Transitional requirements through data conversing, training and release validation will impact the organization implementation of activities (Radack, 2005).

Effective Decision-Making Process

Effective decision making is so important, especially in an organization. Actions will not be possible without decisions because it is necessary for planning, organizing, coordinating and communicating. Follow-up actions will not be possible without effective decisions, and a company with effective decision-making process is likely to face new problems effectively. It also provides opportunities for growth in the organization because it reduces losses and improves the stability of the company.

How Can Decision Support System Aid Business and How It Can Be Detrimental

Decision support systems through business performance software will allow faster decision making, effective allocation of company resources, and easy identification of negative trends in the business. DSS can summarize all information of the business using charts and graphs so as to help the management to take a strategic decision (Kopackova & Skrobackova, 2006). However, DCC is very costly since it requires investment in information system to collect and analyze data. It overemphasizes decision making and leads to information overload.

Important Support System to an Organization

Group decision-making system is appropriate to an organization. It first provides a synergy idea because having more people participating in decision making is better than few people. Discussions, collaboration and questioning by group members will make them identify complete solutions and recommendations (Istudor & Duta, 2010). It is also critical because it aids in sharing information among group members which increases understanding and facilitates movement towards decision making.

Role of IT Systems in Changing Global Business Models

IT has great impacts to changing business models. It addresses customer needs in real-time and in a predictive manner. IT enables products to refresh through over-the-air updates. It converges information which creates the experience of current products and enables services. IT also capture the value of products through enabling recurring revenue, adding personalization and context, and understanding how ecosystem partners make money (Amit & Zott, 2010).

Elements to Include In Disaster Recovery Planning

The first element is evaluating possible risks and disaster effects so as to help in prioritizing events that need attention. Secondly, calculating downtime recovery period is important element because it ensures quick recovery of critical systems in case of failures. The third element is going for secure and encrypted backups so as to protect customers data and to save costs.

How To Handle Abuse Of Information Systems In Regards To Customers And Employees.

To control internet abuse, several steps are needed to be taken. First, I will determine the organizations current risk of information systems abuse. I then develop a broad policy to protect the organization from corporate responsibility. Next step is to educate employees and customers on company policy so as to comply. I will then employ monitoring mechanisms to enforce the policies and train the staff in early detection of information systems so as to prevent them. Lastly, I will analyze the cost-benefit of employees terminating in cases of critical abuse of information systems (Yerby, 2013).
