Domestic and wild mammal grazing has a significant impact on plant communities depending on the intensity of grazing and the particular community. According to the Natural Resources Research Center, grazing helps in the sustenance of plant functionality variety in addition to decreased proportion of grassland species. Moderate grazing is a useful tool in the maintenance of hereditary and the biotic variety of grasslands. On the other hand, grazing is an essential environmental activity that favors annual, perennial plant species and the increased emergence of invasive species that is critical for the enrichment of an environments vegetation pattern. According to the Natural Resources Research Center, plant communities such as the desert southwest, which do not tolerate grazing poses a threat to the natural ecosystem.

Your policies and stand on the conservation of the natural environment are critical to this challenge that threaten to put at risk the vast grasslands used by many for grazing. Environmental scientists do agree that plants that do not support or encourage grazing pose a threat to the vegetation pattern, in addition to plant community distribution in the vast grasslands. For example, the desert Southwest does not tolerate grazing, primarily domestic grazing that plays a critical role in the control of shrub encroachment and spatial changes in community settlement in particular grazing areas. Although overgrazing has an adverse impact on the environment and plant communities, such as loss of biodiversity and soil erosion, scientists agree that un-grazing encourages shrub encroachment and lack of the plant variety. With an increase in demand for grazing areas, the need to promote grazing and ensure that the environment encourages plant diversity should be highly encouraged. The problem posed by the plant communities that do not support grazing may be detrimental to the ecosystem and especially to the communities depending on livestock as their sole source of income.

Researchers and environment policy makers do agree that it is important to find a solution to the danger and menace posed by the plant communities that cannot tolerate grazing. It is no doubt that lack of intervention to finding a solution may put the environment and the entire ecosystem in danger if the impact of plant communities that do not tolerate grazing is not addressed. The solution lies in raising wild animal species that forage better and fend off predators, disease, and pests better than cattle. Wild animals species such as bison, have the effect of reducing evenness of certain plant species, creating discrete patches and increase the diversity of plant variations. Researchers agree that bison has the net effect of promoting taxonomic and patch diversity, an effect that significantly reduces the adverse effects of plant communities that do not tolerate grazing. Besides controlling the spread and increase of plant communities that do not tolerate grazing, bison (American buffalo), help changes in vegetation structure, a phenomenon that promotes the emergence of different plant species likened by domesticated animals and encourages grazing.

It is vital looking into the issue and help raise and introduce wild species such as bison into the regions frequented by the plant communities that do not tolerate grazing. Your concerted effort of preserving the environment is commendable, and it is important that you help the areas affected by the plants raise and introduce wild species such as bison into the areas in addition to passing legislations that will support the same initiative.

Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely
