Rationale

Shakespeare has made Macduff the liberator of Scotland by making him seem like God's selected angel of justice to restore the true and chosen king of Scotland. Macduff, along with Malcolm, goes to England to search for help from the ancient King Edward the Confessor. Once Macduff gets the soldiers, He will return to Scotland with ten thousand militias rented to him by the English king to overthrow Macbeth. Macduff certainly goes to England to collect the backing of both the King of England and Malcolm (Duncan's son) in ousting Macbeth. Therefore, that is his basic incentive of writing the letter as it recounts the story (Cullen).

Macduff is a man of few words; he uses prose mostly when he speaks. Shakespeare's narration runs both prose and verses depending on the depth of the message. The prose is a communicative style that sounds natural and uses the grammatical structure of writing style that is brief yet interesting for what it fails to say (literacy Devices, 2017)

In this letter, Macduff uses various styles by use of various literary devices to make the letter precise and straight to the point using less but complete structures. Some of the literary devices were similes and metaphors. The letter also has the use of litotes for instance when he says this is no small problem, meaning that it is a huge problem. The purpose and the effect of these literary devices are to allow the reader to see the familiar in a new way; it allows the reader to grasp abstract ideas by making them mire more concrete. It also enhances the readers understanding and adds depth to the text (Kaltura, 2015)

Writers use beautiful language to attract the attention of the audience and make them live in the moment of the story makes the reader see and hear the action of the character in their mind and live the moment with them. The action is coherent with the character and makes the reader relate to them well and in-depth as compare to when the language is simpler and plain.

The impact of Shakespeare's diction is apparent on the English Language, as he furnished structure to his prose and verses; he assisted to regulate grammar and developed new words. He was amongst the leading writers to provide a different structure to his writing. Furthermore, he used a diverse style of scripting plays and poetry. Shakespeare also used modest words with great art that became legendary for the other English authors to trail. Moreover, Shakespeare uses metaphors masterly in his inscription (Baluchi).
